Heather is an international expert on diversity, gender and sustainable transport and has worked on projects for international clients and development agencies, such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Investment Bank and European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). She has extensive experience in research studies and implementing projects.
It is important to show that there are many, experienced and technically competent women working in all aspects of transport.
Her international experience in data collection on sexual harassment on public transport includes working in Asia, Africa, and Latin America and has specific experience of working in Indonesia, India and China. She can draw on experiences and good practice from all over the world. Recent examples of work include collecting data on E-Mobility as a Driver for Change (an international baseline on gender and e-mobility); an inclusive planning guide for C40;and an review of the future transport labour market; sexual harassment in Nigeria and Malawi to develop an internet based, decision-making tool for stakeholders to address personal security for Africa and develop inclusive, safe transport systems (the SHECAN tool); and Gender imbalance in the transport sector: a toolkit for change.
