Tanya is a Technical Advisor in Climate Friendly Freight Transport in India (Green Freight) project, jointly implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Logistics Division, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The project looks after providing strategies and technical solutions to the decision-making agencies at the national, regional and local level to develop freight transport in a climate friendly and efficient manner, so as to support the India’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

Tanya has 6 years of working experience in both passenger and freight transportation projects. Before joining GIZ, she worked with World Resources Institute (WRI India), Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP India), IPE Global and Centre for Green Mobility (CGM). She had played both advisory and technical roles while working on Junction Designing projects with city traffic police and development authorities, preparing Detailed Project Reports for Public Bicycle Sharing System for municipal corporations in Delhi, planning for Active Transport, and promoting Raahgiri (an initiative for Streets for People). She also gained coastal experience while improving transportation for people residing across largest coastline in Odisha, India.

Tanya holds her Masters' degree in Transportation Planning and Logistics Management from School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal, an autonomous institute under Central Government of India. Her Bachelors' degree is in Urban and Regional Planning from SPA Bhopal, and she also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Urban Environmental Management and Law from National Law University, Delhi.

Currently she is enrolled in an executive program by XLRI Jamshedpur and learning different aspects of E-commerce Supply Chain Management and Analytics. She is always enthusiastic and active in learning different topic areas relating transportation sector.
